Liberty Day

Classroom Materials & Liberty Day at the Statehouse

250 students celebrating the 250th!

Liberty Day at the Statehouse is a one-of-a-kind educational experience that brings history and civics to life for fourth grade students from across South Carolina. As part of the state’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, 250 selected students will visit the South Carolina Statehouse each year to expand their understanding of U.S. and South Carolina history. Welcomed by state leaders, students meet historical interpreters and participate in hands-on, interactive experiences. The Statehouse becomes a living classroom where students explore the people, places, and ideas that shaped our nation and gain a deeper appreciation for South Carolina’s role in the American Revolution.

All SC public school teachers, currently teaching 4th grade social studies are eligible to apply.
